Organizing Committee

“The participation of youth in artistic events, such as the BritchamDR Young Musician of the Caribbean Award, is not only essential to develop the self-expression and creativity of young people, but also plays an important role in reinforcing skills that promote the success of the creative industries in the region. Music an culture provide hope and light that are sorely needed in the world, making initiatives like this more important than ever.”

“We are very excited about this initiative, as we are convinced that the arts in general, and music in particular, have a great potential to redefine the fiber of nation.  Witnessing this through our youth, our future, is specially stimulating.  We hope that you share our enthusiasm and accompany us in celebrating these young virtuosos and promoting this initiative so that many others have the opportunity to cultivate their talent as well.”

"The BritchamDR Young Musician of the Caribbean Award was established in 2018-19 in order to benefit aspiring instrumentalists throughout the Caribbean & to discover the wealth of musical talent available in the region. It aims to provide an opportunity for young musicians to perform Western Classical music and to recognize and celebrate their ability. The competition represents a collaborative partnership between BritchamDR (Dominican Republic), ABRSM (London), Bangor University (Wales, UK) and the British Embassy (Dominican Republic)."

“At BritchamDR we understand that the artistic and cultural formation of a lifetime can change the course of a community; and, therefore, we are committed to the future of our young people and to be able to inspire in them a legacy of love and admiration for arts. We are grateful for the support received from all of our sponsors, collaborators and patrons, who with their contribution have given these young people the opportunity to change their lives and fulfill their dreams of raising the name of their country through their music.”

"The BritchamDR Young Musician of the Caribbean Award was created with the purpose of offering young Dominican and Caribbean talents a platform where they could demonstrate their gift to the world, in a prestigious international competition, forged under the highest standards of ethics, professionalism and impartiality."

The BritchamDR YMoCA is a genuine effort by a group of people who believe in young talent and to whom we wish to open doors and opportunities for them to develop their full potential.

"The BritchamDR Institutional Relations Committee is pleased to provide this opportunity for the promising young musicians of our region to receive a transcendental boost in their careers and to help them fulfill their dreams of living by and for music. Welcome, young talents, to this new Call for the BritchamDR Award for the Young Caribbean Musician."
